It really has been a great week at the Supreme Court for guns, life, religion and the Constitution!!!
- THE SUPREME COURT HAS OVERTURNED ROE V. WADE!! Our prayers were answered at the Supreme Court Friday morning. A massive, historic victory for LIFE has just been delivered, and countless unborn babies stand to be saved as a result!!! 13 states have trigger laws making Abortion Illegal immediately.
- This victory comes on the heels of a decision from SCOTUS striking down an anti-2A law in New York that was denying law-abiding Americans their right to defend themselves unless they justify their need to carry a firearm outside their home. The right to keep AND BEAR arms shall not be infringed. There are 6 states that have conditions or restrictions to bear arms which become null and void immediately with this 2A decision by the Supreme Court.
- And finally on the First Amendment, SCOTUS also ruled 6-3 in favor of the High School Coach fired for post-game prayers on the field. The court held that the US Constitution neither requires nor allows governments to suppress such religious expression.
- The court rightly decided all of these earlier decisions were unconstitutional.
New Federal Gun Legislation Signed Into Law by Biden
- At the same time, our US Senate and House passed the first gun legislation since 1993, which Biden signed into law Saturday June 25th! This bi-partisan (65-33 vote in Senate, 15 Republicans and 12 Republicans in the House also voted for this) bill, includes a number of aspects:
- Provides funding for states to implement “red flag laws” (which confiscate guns from people deemed dangerous) and crisis prevention programs such as school safety and mental health
- Enhanced background checks for buyers under 21 to include juvenile records over 10-day period
- Closes the “boyfriend loophole” – barring domestic abusers from purchasing firearms
- Toughens penalties for gun trafficking
- Clarifies license guidelines for gun dealers
Biden forgives another $6B in student loans for approximately 200,000 people at primarily for profit colleges including DeVry University, University of Phoenix and ITT Tech Institute (now defunct). This decision could increase inflation by 0.5% over 12 months.
