GOD REFRESHES (Exodus 15:23-27)
Pastor Eric Jones, November 22, 2015Part of the Journey to the Promise series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
At the bitter waters of Marah in Exodus 15, even as the Israelites were grumbling, the Lord involved a pice of wood, turned the bitter to sweet, and brought refreshing.
Likewise, while we were far from God (grumbling and complaining) sinning against Him, God demonstrated His great love for us by throwing a tree (a cross) into the bitter waters of history.
And on that tree (that cross), Jesus drank the bitterness of sin and death that were ours to drink. He took upon Himself our iniquities. And on that tree, Jesus made a way for us to drink from the refreshing waters of sweet, eternal life.
Here is what we learn about God's Refreshing...
PROMISE 1: When God leads, He will keep us desperate for Him
PROMISE 2: When God leads, He will test us
PROMISE 3: When God leads, He’s after our hearts
PROMISE 4: When God leads, He offers ultimate refreshing
