The race can be hard…But, when we feel like giving up, Paul says… be strong. To be strong speaks of moral courage in the face of unrelenting opposition. To be STRONG IN GRACE means that we don’t rely on ourselves when times are tough (when the race is hard), we rely on Christ alone.
Paul uses some metaphors and lets us know that the race requires the dedication of a soldier, the discipline of an athlete, and the diligence of a farmer.
