At the conclusion of Hebrews 11 and our series, By Faith, we discover that in the end, Faith Waits. There are two sides of the FAITH COIN – the NOW and the NOT-YET. There is a present reality in which God’s kingdom is already in force. However, the Kingdom of God is still coming.
Faith Looks Long Term: (Hebrews 11:13-16). The fulfillment of the promise is coming – His name is Jesus!
Faith Hurts: (Hebrews 11:35-38). If you haven’t experienced real hurt because of your faith in Jesus, then there is probably something wrong – you may be living in a Christian bubble; you might be making life decision based on seeking peace instead of living for the Prince of Peace. And this hurt is worth it because Jesus is worth it & loving others is worth it!
Faith Waits: (Hebrews 11:39-40).
"Many of them (the Heroes of faith) never received the land. Sometimes they had earthly victory; sometimes they did not. Sometimes their faith saved them from death; sometimes it brought them death. No matter. They knew that God had provided something better." – Charles Spurgeon
The BETTER is JESUS! The PROMISE is JESUS!
